    Antique ANTIQUE ITALIAN LATE 19TH CENTURY ROCOCO PAINTED KING SIZE BED W7240/13.4

    Lovely Italian Late 19th Century King Size Painted Bed and dating from around 1890. Of Italian Rococo
    Style it has a serpentine shaped headboard with carved and gilded edges and with a pierced central cartouche with painted flowers above a pale blue velvet upholstered headboard. The low end footboard has cabriole shaped supports with painted gilding and a serpentine shaped footboard with interlocking pierced and gilded work to each end with gilded panels to the centre with painted pastel flowers. It stands on lovely carved cabriole legs.

     
    Measures: 53" high to headboard x 24" high to footboard x 82" long x 74" wide
    Takes a 5ft.6" wide mattress which is either 72 or 76" long
     
    A superb painted Italian king size bed and in very good original condition and oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
