This captivating 17th-century Italian oil-on-panel painting masterfully captures the solemnity and reverence of the Crucifixion scene intertwined with the profound theological symbolism of the Holy Trinity.

His outstretched hand gestures towards the suffering Christ, symbolizing both the act of divine approval and the unwavering love of a father for his son.

The Holy Spirit, symbolized by a dove or in human form, hovers with ethereal grace, its presence serving as a symbol of comfort and guidance amidst the anguish of the Crucifixion. The delicate brushwork and subtle use of colour imbue this celestial figure with an aura of otherworldly serenity.
