18thc scottish basket hilt sword

A rare upper officers steel basket hilted sword 1798 pattern, with two blood runnels, still retaining it`s original shagreen handle but missing the steel knop or top replaced in wood many years ago, all has been rusted but has been cleaned to a pleasing degree. has been used in battle . This sword along with others and other items was from a famous Irish hunting house, they belonged to a Lieutenant Colonel Higginson Royal Irish Fusiliers decorated in the first world war.
