    Antique 19th Century Carved Bone Barleycorn Chess Set with Inlaid Rosewood Box

    Antique turned and carved bone chess set in the barleycorn design popular in the early to mid 19th century. The chess set is housed in a 19th century rosewood box inlaid with mother-of-pearl and pewter. The rosewood box has been relined in black velvet. Natural (white) and stained (red) bone pieces.
    This is a complete set with no replacement pieces. King measures 11 cm, pawn measure 4 cm. Box measures 25 x 9.5 x 17 cm.
    The set is complete with no replacement pieces. Pieces are in very good condition with very minor signs of age and use. Images clearly show condition - please contact us if further images are required. Rosewood box in very good condition. Commensurate with age and with no inlay losses. Please see images as they form an important part of the description.
