19th century antique french mahogany desk

A freestanding 19th Century French mahogany writing desk, the moulded edge top having a green leather writing surface decorated with blind and gilt tooling, the front of the desk consisting of three oak lined drawers with original decorative brass escutcheons, brass mounts and and workable locks and keys, the end drawers having brass circular patraes, all three drawer fronts having wonderful decorative inlay, the right hand drawer having a lockable secret compartment. The reverse of the desk being exactly the same as the front but having three faux drawers. Supported on four elegant turned and fluted legs terminating on engraved brass feet. In excellent condition and having a lovely warm mahogany colour. Circa 1880.
