Circa 1860. A rare and unusual French centre table. The rectangular top in burr walnut with inlays of brass, pewter, tortoise shell and mother of pearl. The deep shaped frieze with inlaid panels, with shaped beaded moulding on all sides, with inlaid drawers on each end. The table stands on four bulbous turned legs, each with four carved foliate carvings on their tops, intersected by shaped raised stretchers with ebonised carved acanthus leaves, with a large carved bouquet of flowers at the intersection, with downward facing finial beneath, all resting on four large brass cup with brass castors beneath.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981.
