    Ex John Woodman Higgins Collection. With fine engraving and a good proportion of its original blue and gilt décor remaining. A superb and beautiful cavalry officer's sword circa 1798. Carved horn grip and brass P hilt. From the world-famous John Woodman Higgins Armory Collection, a most important and famous American collection, mainly acquired in America during the 1920s and 1930s, and this very sword was part of their collection inventory of Napoleonic and War of 1812 swords S& K [Schnitzler & Kirschbaum] makers 1787 till 1811 in Gafrath, moved to Solingen in 181 Suppliers of swords to cutlers in England, America, and Prussia.
