A wonderful, and impressively framed and glazed, oil painting of cottages by a river. It measures 33ins (84cms) x 21ins (54cms) toi the extremities of the frame and is a view of three river bank cottages under a patchy sky with distant hills.
It is wonderfully set of by the large and heavily ornate gilt frame, helped by a paler gilt slip surround, all held together under glass. The painting is in good condition, protected by the glazing and the frame has one or two small patches of missing moulding that have been touched in with colour to disguise them. It works remarkably well and they are not really noticeable, ( please see photo).
It is monogrammed at bottom right with, 'HP' and is strung and ready to hang, although I should warn you it is a very heavy piece!
