This lovely 18th-century copy is from a much-copied painting in the Museo di Capodimonte, Naples by Correggio.

This painting is very similar in style to the larger painting of Stourhead House by Antonio Cavallucci 1752 -1895Copies of this famous painting also exist in the Hermitage Museum in Russia and the Philadelphia Museum of ArtAccording to legend, Saint Catherine of Alexander dreamt she became Christ’s spiritual bride.
