An impressive Dresden style table top mirror, with scalloped bevelled glass festoned with flowers and foliage with musical cherubs. It meaures 16ins (41cms) high and 13ins (33cms) at its widest, and is a roccoco design porcelain frame, with swags and swirl, spalyed feet and an assymetrical central reserve housing the mirror.

To the left and right is a winged cherub, one with a tamborine and the other a flute, both with free standing arms and legs.
It is an unusalmirror of its type for two reasons. Firstly the bevel edged mirror plate is bevelled with scallop shapes around the edge instead of the usual single angled line and secondly, because the frame itself is made in four seperate pieces and assembled to the back.It is backed by a sturdy piece of wood that accomodates the hoinged bent metal prop stand andt stands firmly on a surface.Considering its age, size and fragility it is in very good condition. There are some inevitable chips to the applied flowers and foliage but the cherubs are both intact and still attached and the only damage to them is that one of the wings has been re-stuck and the very tips of two fingers are chipped.The original mirror plate is also in good order with only a couple of small specs on it.All in all, a nice and unusual, late 19th century, porcelain table miror, probably from one of the Dresden factories, and in surprisingly good order.If you are interested in this mirror please let me know as I have numerous other detailled photos that I can't show for space limitations
