Antique 19th Century Austrian Majolica Ex Large Charger Pottery Gebruder Schutz Showing makers Mark The Kneeling Archer on the back.This is a very rare Major works from the Gebruder Schutz Factory in Austria. Made Circa 1890A very large Charger Hanging Plate With Unusual Scalloped Edge Measuring 40cm Diameter approx Depth of Plate 4.5cm Approx Very High Relief.The Subject Matter is Superb and Showing Neptune Roman God of the Sea Holding his Trident Nonchalantly over his Shoulder and Gazing at a Young Naked Female. The Whole Scene is Set on the Waves with Fish and Sea Monsters. In a Bright Turquoise Majolica Pottery surrounded by a contrasting Green scalloped edge. The Charger Is Deep 1-2cm approx High Relief Workmanship.My pictures do not do this beautiful rare Charger Justice. It was very Hard to Photograph to enable you to see the relief and depth.
