Stunning Chappell Baby Grand Piano
A beautiful walnut example of an antique baby grand piano by the English firm of piano manufacturer know as Chappell. These highly respected pianos were produced in Bond Street, London during the 20th Century when they were at the peak of their popularity. The firm was bought in the 1980 by Kemble, another English piano manufacturer. This particular piano has a beautiful case with octagonal tapering legs and large brass casters (original) the music fret is an attractive sunburst design. The case has been traditionally French polished by our skilled workshop and the interior itself is particularly attractive on this piano. This piano has a bright gilt frame with embossed design accanthus detailing to many sections of the interior, it looks stunning with the lid open. Being overstrung, iron framed and in concert pitch, this Chappell has 85 keys, 35 ebony and 50 ivory keys, all in good condition. It plays beautifully and is particularly bright and quite loud so you can really hammer out your favourite tunes. The hammers and felts and soundboard are all good.
