This is an antique book safe. A Continental, cedar disguise volume storage box, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910. 

• Pleasingly book form, with a useful concealed drawer
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
• Cedar stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues
• Fascia engraved with an oval medallion, the corners hosting foliate motif
• Usefully sized drawer dressed with a later page insert
