This is an antique cheese carrying box. An English, oak garden produce tray or work box, dating to the Georgian period, circa 1800.

• Generously sized box, ideal for carrying large truckles of cheese or garden produce
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
• Select oak stocks show fine grain interest and wisps of medullary rays
• Rich caramel hues add distinction alongside the tapering trapezoidal form
• Gently raised sections to each end with shaped butler's grasp
• Appealing chip craved detail to corners with traditional hand-cut nails
