This is an antique country house bookcase. A Scottish, oak library book cabinet in Gothic revival taste, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880.

• Fine country house library cabinet, with striking carved appearance
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
• Superb Scottish oak presents fine grain interest and medullary rays
• Rich caramel hues accentuate the beautifully figured stocks
  
  
• Fascinating arrangement with shelves across the front and to each end
• Exceptional carved upper apron with chased oak leaf relief in the Gothic manner
• Bold pilasters to each side, adorned with leaf bulb motif
• Lower apron adorned with demi-lune carved patterns
