This is an antique country house parlour game case. An English, oak organiser box, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.
- Fascinating proportion to this pleasingly crafted case
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
- Select oak stocks with thick timber presents fine grain interest
- An abundance of medullary rays dance amongst rich caramel hues
- Brass recessed handle to lid, with shield shape backplate
- Opens to reveal an emerald green, baize lined interior
- Six divisions to the interior, with a lidded compartment to the left
- Unusual sliding clasps neatly set within nacelles to the fascia
This is a quality antique country house parlour games box, with a usefully arranged interior and wide proportion. Solid joints and construction, delivered ready for the home.
