This is an antique dinner gong. An English, fruitwood and brass large table chime in Arts & Crafts taste, dating to Edwardian period, circa 1910. 

• Fascinating dinner table gong with a pleasing ring
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
• Select fruitwood shows bright caramel hues and fine grain interest
• Small hook to the side neatly situates the striking gong

• Hand-beaten brass shield gong shows great patination, decorated with foliate and star motif
• Turned wooden mallet with leather pad for gentle striking
• Gong suspended beneath the frame with quality leather cord
• Raised upon a pair of tapering block feet with stretcher rail for support
