This is an antique gentleman's glove box. An English, walnut sarcophagus shaped keepsake or card case, dating to the mid Victorian period, circa 1870.

• Delightful craftsmanship, ideal for the reception hall side cabinet or dresser
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
• Walnut stocks present wonderful colour and figuring
• Burr walnut to lid adds further grain interest

• Original silk cotton lining to the lid reverse in attractive aqua blue hue
• Pleasingly clean interior perfect for use
• Inset lock to the front fascia — untested, key absent
• Dressed to the base with a protective green baize
