This is an antique mantlepiece vase. A French, ceramic and gilt metal display planter or jardiniere, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

• Graceful of form, with attractive colour and decorations
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
• Clear, bright ceramic enhanced with a light blue wash
• Colourful foliate scenes decorate the front and rear fascia

• Distinctive beaded edge to the gilt metal rim
• Offering an opening diameter of 9.5cm (3.75") - ideal for smaller houseplants
• Scrolled leaf forms to either side, with golden lobe detail
• Standing upon a pierced gilt metal base with scrolled toes
