This is an antique spindle back rocker. An English, beech and elm country house rocking chair, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

• Crest rail of deeply bowed form, accentuated with striking figuring
• Five turned spindles form the back rest, with collared detail
• Turned balusters supporting each serpentine arm
• Wide, circular seat squab with gently recessed saddle slab adds to the comfort
  
  
• Raised upon pleasingly turned and collared, stout legs
• United by a turned double H-stretcher with tapered spindles
• The long, arched rocking feet provide a relaxing, gentle motion
