This is an antique schoolmaster's chair. An English, stout oak desk or elbow seat, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910.

• Superb chair, of thick stocks and institutional appeal
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
• Quality oak stocks present fine grain interest

• Gently angled back rest, the crest rail between a pair of square cut finials
• Recessed panel over a flat seat squab at a comfortable height of 46.5cm (18.25'')
• Serpentine arms of broad profile, raised upon gently tapering supports
• Square section legs, united by stretcher rails and gently splayed to rear
