Circa 1860, Victorian mahogany davenport of traditional form. The ¾ shaped gallery over a gilt tooled leather writing surface, opening to a satinwood-lined interior with a series of real and faux drawers. One side has a pull-out pen slide and a bank of drawers with knob handles; the opposite with faux drawers. With fielded panel to the front, and all supported on cabriole legs with scrolling tops, foliate carved knees and on a raised shaped platform base. With flared bun feet with concealed castors.
