    An Exceptionally Fine Quality English Tunbridge Ware Inlaid Well Figured Solid Burr Walnut Ladies or Gents Travelling Writing Slope of outstanding quality and compact proportions. Last quarter of the Nineteenth Century.

     
    The original fitted interior enclosing two secret drawers, The hinged lid with unusual decorative inlay banding at side edges, the front with similar inlay. An unusual mechanism reveals twin secret drawers, see image.
     
    Condition: Professionally restored with replaced gold leaf tooled black leather inside which is beautifully executed. Box closes firmly with no gaps. Lock and key are present, crystal ink bottle is of a later period, nice original firm hinges.
     
    Height: 6” (15.25cm). Width: 11.75” (30cm). Depth: 9.25” (23.5cm.
