Circa 1840, exhibition quality Biedermeier flame mahogany waterfall whatnot/buffet. The top tier has a profusely carved back ledge with open fretwork, flowers and wonderful carving. There are five serpentine shaped tiers with matching flame mahogany veneers, the top four with stylish gadrooning to the fore edge. Each tier is supported by tapering barley sugar columns topped with finials. The bottom tier has veneered fore edge, and the whole piece stands on fine turned and fluted bulbous feet. Great colour and patination. Wonderful piece of Victorian cabinet making.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
