Circa 1890. A quality French bombe shaped marble topped commode in Louis XVI style. The heavy mottled pink marble top with elegant fore-edge, the bombe shaped commode with three drawers, which are smothered with marquetry cross-banding with extravagant rococo gilded brass escutcheons and handles. The fore-edges with pierced and chased mounts on the top with casting down the facing, the shaped gables with marquetry and beneath the bottom drawer is a shaped and deep frieze with a gilded mount and the chest rests on squat splayed feet with well-cast and pierced sabots.

Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
