Circa 1870. A quality burr-walnut mid Victorian carved butterfly shaped turnover card table. The top in well figured book matched burr walnut with a double moulded fore edge, the top is hinged and opens to reveal a felt lined interior with broad banding. The top swivels with small storage beneath, the frieze follows the form of the top also. The table rests on a substantial turned and profusely carved stem with a finely carved collar, issuing four hipped saber legs with foliate carving on the knees and finishing on four well carved cabriole legs with further carving on the sides and a curled foot.
