c.1780’s north european infantry hanger sword

An interesting c.1780’s North European infantryman’s hanger sword. Probably Germanic or possibly Scandinavian? With brass hilt that would originally have had two extra hilt bars that look to have been removed during it service life, maybe to make it easier to wear against the uniform. With a ribbed leather grip. The slightly curved blade is single-fullered and double-edged towards the point. Comes complete with its original leather and brass-mounted scabbard – missing the chape. Blade length is 23 inches (28 inches overall).
