carlton ware ginger jar

Circa 1930, beautiful Carlton ware ginger jar with lid, standing on a contemporary Chinese carved stand. The dome lid is a beautiful cobalt blue colour with gilding and pink painted flowers. This pattern continues on the main body of the bulbous jar like an apron running down the sides. Beneath this are various bunches of beautiful hand painted flowers on all sides. The top, neck and base have a gilded line. Underneath, the jar has ‘Carlton Ware, Made in England’ and a design pattern ‘3438’ and ‘3441’. The jar and lid are in perfect condition.

The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
