cast iron and brass fire basket

Circa 1900, freestanding cast iron and brass fire basket. In the form of a cartouche with a cast iron back, foliate casting and rococo style scrolling to the back. There is a fire stone to the front to reflect the heat and a shaped basket with cast finials to either side. The inside base is ribbed and open for the ashes, and it stands on cast iron cabriole legs to the front and a profusely cast brass foliate apron.

The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
