Circa 1680. An oak walnut and inlaid two-part Charles II chest of drawers. The solid oak top in well grained oak with lovely colour and patination, the configuration of four various full-length drawers, each of the drawers are double fronted. The top narrow drawer with walnut facing and chequered inlay, elegant brass escutcheon and cast brass and pierced pear drop handles with an elegant back plate. The larger drawers beneath have raised panel facings, with oysters of walnut intersected by wonderful string inlay all centered with a cast brass handle. The sides with framed pilasters, moulded and in walnut, the sides of the chest are paneled and it retains its original back, beneath the bottom drawer there are further mouldings and the chest rests on stout bracket feet.
