Circa 1900, very stylish painted Chinese 3 tier jardinière stand. At the top there is an aluminium plant holder which is waterproof, with a wraparound gallery which rises and falls with open fretwork and has a curved edge left and right. The body of the top of the jardinière has open fretwork with typical geometric and floral Chinese patterns. Beneath the top section there is a wonderful shaped apron again with open fretwork and this continues around all sides. There are 2 further shelves, each with a panelled section and original stencilling (slightly worn) and a wraparound gallery with open fretwork. The whole piece stands on 4 elegant cabriole legs with carved flowers on some of the edges, rounded corners and finishing on an unusual raised foot. The whole piece has its original painting on it.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
