Circa 1920, large Chinoiserie style stool by Whytock and Reid of Edinburgh. The stool is rectangular with a drop pin needle point top, hand sewn and depicting a bouquet of flowers. It has been sponged green and has embellishments of lacquer work. Beneath the top, the fore-edge has gilding and lacquer work and further down there is a cross stretcher, again sponged green with lacquer work. It stands on a typical Whytock and Reid foot with a further gilded section beneath which runs up the back.
