Circa 1840, small early Victorian rectangular dressing mirror with its carved mahogany and sabicu frame. The frame is profusely carved with foliate carving at each of the corners, concave sections at the front and sides and a solid mahogany back which is screwed in position. The mirror supported by two scrolling Rococo uprights, and held in place by metal poles which have carved mahogany knobs at each side for adjusting. The base of the mirror is rectangular with a square back and rounded front with a simple moulded edge. The whole piece stands on four squat bun feet. The colour, finish and patination of the piece is excellent. Very stylish, unusual mirror.
