A Mid 19th Century English Oil Portrait Painting.A characterful painting depicting an affluent gentleman dressed in a waistcoat and cravat.Condition:
Offered in fair condition with some signs of restoration. Three surface marks can be seen in certain lights, these do not cut through the paint. A repair can be seen above the sitters left shoulder, this has also been touched up. At some point the canvas has been cut from its surrounding canvas and attached flat to a piece of modern board, pulling this away reveals the original canvas backing.The heavy frame appears to be period correct Offered in fair condition, some heavy bumping can be seen to the corners with further chips.More information: www.gothickrevival.com Overall a characterful good quality portrait.Canvas size: 45.5cm x 35cm
