    • Oval coffee table in Louis XVI style, model Adam Weisweiler. France 19th century

Oval coffee table in Louis XVI style, model Adam Weisweiler. France 19th century

      sia antion, riga, latvia

Oval coffee table in mahogany and gilded bronze in the Louis XVI style. Late nineteenth century based on the model of Adam Weisweiler. The table top has a shape close to an oval with four semicircular protrusions, to which figured elegant table legs with gilded mascarons are attached in the lower part. Bronze overlays and linear edging of the edge of the lid and its wooden sides (table waist) are made with high quality casting, embossing and gilding. The table top is decorated over the entire surface with a geometric marquetry pattern, which contrasts beautifully with the gilded edging of the table. The decor uses motifs traditional for the era of classicism, made in the antique spirit - ribbon and floral patterns, flower heads, cornucopia, figurines of lying rams, maiden heads. The table legs are completed at the bottom with bronze shoe-shaped plates with a relief foliage pattern. In the front part of the table (at the waist) there is a drawer lid. It, due to the decor, similar to the decor repeating the gilded bronze decor of other sides of the table waist, is carefully hidden. A magnificent ladies table with gilded bronze decor and porcelain panels in the style of Adam Wei...

      sia antion, riga, latvia

A magnificent ladies table in the Napoleon III style, with gilt bronze decoration, porcelain top and waist panels in the manner of Adam Weisweiler (1746-1820). Rectangular in shape with corner projections, columns of legs, strict arches of their frames and luxurious scenes of porcelain panels. Combines the rigor of classicism and the playfulness of Rococo. It combines the comfort of wood, the strict majesty of acanthus, laurel belts and buds of gilded bronze with the boudoir charm of porcelain. An outstanding solution is a 35x58 cm porcelain tabletop made in the style of products from the royal Sevres manufactory, which almost completely occupies the surface of the table. It depicts a gallant pastoral of shepherdesses and a shepherd in a park by the lake, made using the technique of polychrome painting. Along the edges of the round medallions there is a motif of amorous impulse, figures in love moving towards each other. The front of the drawer also features three pastoral scenes of walks and love conversations. The sides of the waist carry floral arrangements on porcelain. An alluring and defining piece of furniture, a ladies office! In which the rigor of business forms and the casual playfulness of paintings coexist. The desk drawer is equipped with a hidden secret lock. France 19th century. Dimensions: 81x80x55.5 cm. Magnificent carved bureau table in the Baroque neo-Gothic style. France 19th century.

      sia antion, riga, latvia

Magnificent carved bureau table in the Baroque neo-Gothic style. The terraced structure of work surfaces, with two-tiered storage units and a double-door cabinet, is topped with a Baroque cartouche with a mirror and figures of mischievous putti with grapes. They rest on a carved platform with curved legs, whose lines are entwined with winged gargoyles and snakes. The table drawer panel is completely hidden by a carved garland of flowers and a wave of a sliding board. An acanthus ribbon borders the tabletop. The long necks of snake birds act as strict guardians of the table. Curled into rings, they impart a special mood and historical allusions to the object.
