Mounted, Framed & Glazed Dry-Point Etching 'The Field Road' by Herbert Reeve, b1870

This exemplary etching is by the obscure artist Herbert Reeve who, apparently exhibited at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and at the Royal Academy in the 1920s. He was living in and around London at the time but seems to be missing from the records after around 1930. He was known for coastal and marine subjects, London scenes and rural landscapes, of which this is a very fine example.

I would guess that this work dates from the 1920s and is nicely presented in a plain black frame, which may be original but is certainly from prior to 1958. The work itself is monogrammed then titled & signed in pencil.

    Height of Frame 39cm x Width 46.5cm (c15.25" x c18.25")
    Height of Picture within Mount 19.5cm x Width 23cm (c7.75" x c9")
    Frame Thickness 1.25cm (0.5")

Barring a little very minor damage to the top L/H corner of the frame, picture, mount, frame & glass are all in very good, clean & sound condition.
