A Very Fine Quality French Hand Decorated Ladies Jewellery Casket or Dresser Box of outstanding Museum Quality, and of square outline with all four inverted sides, mid to late Nineteenth Century, possibly by Samson Paris after Sevres. The dome hinged lid with hand painted decoration of standing figures in Eighteenth Century dress, the Lady playing a Mandolin as the Gentleman stands listening within a lavish raised and tooled gilt surround. Three sides with stunning miniature Landscape paintings within raised gold surrounds on a dark cobalt blue ground, the interior with floral painted details. Condition: Good condition with no losses and nice patination to gilding. Gilding mounts are left untouched. This piece is marked as shown. Width: 4" (11.5cm). Depth: 4" (11.5cm).
