Stunning French Sevres Soft Paste Signed Porcelain and Ormolu Twin Handle Electric Table Lamp of traditional bulbous form and of outstanding quality, and good size proportions, raised on a square stepped heavy gauge ormolu base with canted corners and beaded detail. Signed lower right E. CARELLE The central front reserve depicting a seated Courting Couple in Eighteenth Century dress in landscape within a reserve of lavish tooled gilding, back view with a view of a hilly landscape and a lake on a rich cobalt blue ground with gilded highlights. Second quarter of the Nineteenth Century. Condition: Good condition for such early pieces with no losses to porcelain, bronze mounts have been professionally re-gold plated, some wear to gilding within porcelain areas.
