Circa 1790, George III mahogany and satinwood inlaid octagonal wine cooler or cellarette. The top in well figured mahogany, with deep frieze and a gilded brass axehead drop for lifting the lid. Inside it retains the original lining and central plug hole, with the lid held in place by a brass chain. Either side of the exterior are gilded brass lifting handles, and the base has a simple apron with moulding, all on tapering inlaid legs on brass cups and brass castors.
