Circa 1900, George III style mahogany desk, with a solid mahogany inverted top which has a green leather insert. Below the top there is a long single drawer with string inlay and inside the desk has solid mahogany liners and sides. The two pedestals have four graduating inlaid drawers with original cast brass handles with oval back plates. The fore edges are canted and have reeded carving on the inside and outside. The desk is polished on the sides and has a polished panel in the centre, known as a courtesy board. There is a nice apron on the bottom and unusual large chunky bracket feet. The desk is in one piece, has its original colour and is in excellent condition. In the style and quality of Morison & Co of Edinburgh.
