Circa 1890, exhibition quality George III style mahogany display cabinet in two parts. The top has wonderful pierced swan neck pediment with carved flower heads and a raised platform in the centre which possibly would have had a vase or some ornament on it. Below this is a moulded dentil cornice and pair of astragal glazed doors opening to reveal a green silk lined shelved interior with 3 adjustable shelves lined on top and bottom; the lower part with gadroon moulding above a further pair of astragal glazed doors opening to a similar interior as the top, lovely moulding in the form of circles and swags, all standing on ogee bracket feet. Excellent colour and condition. No makers label, but the cabinet is the quality of John Taylor of Edinburgh.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
