Circa 1780, Italian inlaid commode. The rectangular shaped top with breakfront section and unusual inlaid design, over a configuration of similarly inlaid drawers (1 short over 2 large). The gables with further inlay and with a pair of gilded, tapering columns leading to the raised block feet. Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh.
