This is a lovely early Spode porcelain trio. Unlike what we know of a trio today which includes a cup saucer and plate, the Georgian trio consists of a deep saucer and two cups, the larger for tea and the smaller for coffee. This trio bears the Spode mark used from 1790-1820. It is hand painted with florals and gilding. The saucer is 14cm in diameter and the teacup is 6cm in height and the coffee cup 7.5cm in height. There is a little wear to the gilding on the coffee cup and a small crack at the top of the tea cup where the handle meets the cup. It is tight though and does not impact on the integrity of the piece. Given this trio is approx 200 years old it is in very fine condition indeed! A real gem. Postage is included in item cost.
