Circa 1860, quarter-sewn oak and pollard oak foldover card table in style of Lorimer or Gillows of Lancaster. With rounded corners to the top, which has pollard oak cross banding and is hinged, opening to reveal a felt lined surface. The top rotates and beneath is an oak storage area, and beneath it is a fielded, pollard oak panel with simple beading. The sides have quarter brackets with a C scroll and Greek key pattern, and lead onto a turned, bulbous section which tapers down to a reeded section above the brass cups and porcelain castors. There is a cruciform stretcher uniting the legs, and it is polished to all sides (so is free-standing).

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
