Circa 1820. A good George IV mahogany drop leaf Pembroke table in the manner of ‘Gillows of Lancaster’. The tops with a beautiful figured mahogany with a rich colour, the flaps hinged and supported by two wooden supports. In the frieze at one side is faux drawer and on the other side a working drawer, each of the drawers have beautiful gilded cast brass knob handles with flower heads in the center and a stylish back plate. The table stands on the classic Gillow legs, turned, ring turned, fluted and tapering finishing on a brass cup with original brass castors beneath.
