This is a large antique steamer trunk. An American, leather and brass bound shipping chest, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910.

• Fine example of decorative furniture, with a generously sized interior
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order
• Lightly time worn leather with dark brown hues and press stud trim
• Bound to the corners with brass caps for reassuring strength

• Pleasingly dressed in leather to all surfaces of the generously proportioned form
• Bold brass scallop latch to centre with inset lock — key absent
• Further dressed with a pair of slide clips holding the lid securely
• Large interior finished with a blue cotton lining, in clean order

• Finished with leather carriage straps adorn either end
• Remnants of travel labels adds a dash of period detail
• Maker's mark to lid for 'London' by the New York Trunk & Bag Co
