late george iii mahogany brass bound plate bucket/coal bucket

Circa 1790, late George III mahogany and brass bound plate bucket, with a solid brass lifting handle which is hinged and follows the same form as the bucket. The handle has two large brackets which are cut into the mahogany. At a later stage a liner has been made to allow the bucket to carry coal. Once removed, the inside has a leather lining which would have been to protect the plates from damage. The bottom has a cross stretcher for added strength. Would make a good coal depot or litter bin. Good colour and excellent condition.
