Circa 1900, George III style, circular mahogany stool in the Chippendale style. The stool with its raised upholstered centre and piped fore-edge, attached to a large flared circular base. The base has a continuous shaped apron with foliate carving and a beading. At the top of each leg is a carved c scrolling and the extremely shaped cabriole legs have acanthus leaves coming down the front and carved inside on the top. The legs continue down and finish on a realistic animal ball and claw foot. It has been recently re-upholstered.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
