Circa 1900, neat sized mahogany desk chair. The raised back and stuff over arms have been recently covered in burgundy leather, and are finished with close brass studding on the sides and spaced studding on the arms. The back is supported by 19 shaped and reeded spindle uprights and at the front 2 solid mahogany shaped arms. The solid mahogany scooped seat has excellent colour and patination. The back legs are rounded on the outside, flat on the inside, and out swept to the back. The front legs with quarter brackets in the Queen Anne style, finishing on a pad foot. Beneath there is a very stylish curved stretcher at the front and this is united to the back legs by 2 turned sections keeping the chair style and strength. The chair has wonderful colour and patination.
