Circa 1900, very stylish marquetry, marble topped occasional table. The rectangular top has rounded corners, and has a pink variegated marble surface held in place by 4 large blocks underneath. This is surrounded by a crossbanded section of walnut, satinwood and rosewood with circular roundels and flower heads. Around the outside edge is a brass bezel, and beneath this is a deep apron with a similar motif to the top, except with a diamond pattern. There are ormolu rams heads and swags and tails on each of the legs, which stand on brass sabots with a hoof on the base. Good size and colour; would make a great coffee table.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
